Around 2009 Bahco introduced Models 2446, 2449, etc made in China. Bahco thought their own brand could guarantee the quality of the knife.
However, the end-users knew that 2444 was made in Sweden and 2446 was made in China probably forcing Bahco to reintroduce 2444 made by Morakniv in their catalog.
As of 2023, Morakniv stopped producing the 2444 for Bahco.
